Tampa Bay Community Eruv

On Shabbat, Jewish law restricts carrying objects in public spaces. The Chabad Social Circle Community Eruv unites our neighborhood—allowing families to push strollers, carry keys, and walk to shul together with peace of mind.

SUPPORT OUR WEEKLY ERUV

Keeping miles of eruv boundaries kosher requires weekly professional inspections, constant repairs after Florida storms, and dedicated equipment.

If this eruv enables your family or community to walk and carry freely on Shabbat, please consider taking ownership of its upkeep:

  • $180Sponsor a Shabbat: Covers the weekly inspection, repairs, and line maintenance for one entire Shabbat.

  • $500Storm & Emergency Fund: Direct support for urgent post-storm repairs and tree-trimming to ensure zero Shabbat downtime.

  • $1,800Annual Patron: Fully funds an entire month of community coverage and long-term infrastructure upgrades.

(Gifts of any amount are deeply appreciated and go directly to operational costs.)

MAINTENANCE & STATUS

A team of dedicated volunteers inspects the eruv every Friday to ensure it remains kosher before Shabbat begins.

  • Live Status Updates: When repairs are needed or if the eruv is down, we broadcast immediate updates through our WhatsApp group.

  • Get Added: Contact us at chabadsocial@gmail.com to join the update list before Shabbat.

ESSENTIAL BOUNDARY GUIDELINES

  • Check before you carry: Always verify your specific route on the map below before Shabbat—never assume an entire neighborhood is covered.

  • Perimeter streets require caution: Boundary lines often follow specific sides of a street. For example, on Ehrlich Road (westbound from S Village Drive), only the south sidewalk is inside the eruv for the first 200 feet.

  • Hosting guests? Inform your visitors ahead of time which walking routes fall safely within the eruv.
